School Improvement Partners
Enhance Academy Trust allocates two named School Improvement Partners (SIPs) to each Academy within the Trust. There are two SIP roles:
Role 1
The SIP will work with, and assist, the Headteacher and other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in the delivery of the development plan. This role will include helping SLT manage the number of initiatives they have ongoing at the same time, making sure that they do not deviate from the agreed outcomes. The work could involve visits to other school/academies which will have to be linked back to the development plan. The Role 1 SIP would also work with SLT to ensure that there is a reasonable allocation of roles and responsibilities throughout the academy and that these are clearly understood by all staff.
Role 2
The SIP will review the operation and performance of the academy as we would expect it to be judged by Ofsted and will provide guidance on how further improvements can be made. This would include a review of the systems used to monitor pupil's progress; the quality and consistency of marking work; the appropriateness of the Academy's development plan (especially the identification of clear and measurable outcomes); the monitoring and reporting of progress in delivering outcomes; the understanding of the development plan by staff within the academy.
